Description of accommodation

The enclosed, former monastery courtyard provides complete privacy in solitude amidst beautiful nature in the heart of the Highlands. A place with a strong genius loci, perfect for organizing unforgettable weddings, celebrations, corporate team buildings, etc. Accommodation in six apartments located in the attic of the main courtyard building offers comfort and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Main living room with TV, dining table, kitchen equipped with induction hob, combined microwave oven, kettle, fridge with freezer and dishwasher. Two sleeping galleries accessible by ladder, each with a double bed. Two separate bedrooms, each with a double bed. Bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.

Guests have access to shared courtyard areas with hammocks and a shelterd seating in a former farm building with portable grills. Children have also been taken into account, who will have fun on the trampoline, slide, swings, playground and hoops. Plenty of parking spaces at the property.

Pets allowed for a fee of CZK 500/stay (paid upfront along with the payment for the stay). Baby cot and Wi-Fi connection available. Refundable deposit not required. Electricity consumption and final clean-up included in price. Self check-in/out (door code will be sent by e-mail before arrival). Bed linen, towels and bath towels provided by the landlord.

Location description

In the Vysočina region, in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, 2 km off the village of Želiv, 12 km west of town of Humpolec. The monastery courtyard is located on a hill above the "Trnávka" dam, a popular destination for summer recreation by the water. Until the World War II, the courtyard was part of the famous Premonstratensian monastery in Želiv, where spiritual and cultural events are held, and a craft brewery with a restaurant is also open to visitors in the abbey grounds. The historical importance of the region is also proved by the numerous presence of castles, of which Orlík (16 km), Lipnice (25 km), Ledeč n. Sázavou (25 km) and Kámen (28 km) are especially worth visiting. In the picturesque village of Světlá n. Sázavou, you can see a castle with an orangery and a park, a medieval underground and you can arrange an excursion to one of the local glassworks famous for the production of Czech crystal. For fans of curiosities, we recommend going to the Museum of Records in Pelhřimov (17 km) and for families with children to the Wild west town "Stonetown" (19 km).
